Dynamite Kid

He was the baddest motherfucker … ever!! He made wrestling what it was … he started it all. Stampede Wrestling in Calgary, in the late ’70s, early ’80s. His skill was incomparable!! Way before Vince and the WWF ever existed (before they hit the big time)!! Way before he was a Bulldog!! Inventor of the Snap Suplex … and nobody did it better. Chris Benoit idolized him, emulated him, and patterned himself after him. Where do you think he got his Flying Headbutt from? His battles with Bruce Hart (Bret & Owen’s older brother) were legendary, well at least legendary in that it created the legend of The Dynamite Kid. Truth be told, Bruce wasn’t up to Dynamite’s caliber, he couldn’t carry his fucking jockstrap, hell if he wasn’t Stu’s kid, he’d never have set one foot into the ring … he couldn’t fucking wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag. But, I must admit, it was this great match-up that first introduced us to the Kid, and for that I’m very thankful and appreciative. [From Wikipedia: Bret Hart still regards him as “pound-for-pound, the greatest wrestler who ever lived”. Mick Foley. said, ” he manhandled him so badly in the ring that he couldn’t eat solid food for a time, and tore a ligament in Foley’s jaw with his trademark Hook Clothesline. Outside of the ring, WWF-champion Randy Savage once specifically asked for him to watch his back when he went drinking in a hotel bar frequented by NWA wrestlers, including Ric Flair.] Loved watching him live, or on TV with Ed Whalen’s call “in the meantime, and in-between time, that’s it, another edition of Stampede Wrestling”!! I still remember frequenting a bar on 16th Ave. (sorry, can’t remember the name of it) with my good wrestling loving friend, and we would always see J.R Foley there drinking draught beer. He was a manager (of The Dynamite Kid), a heel, a villain, and he kindly would indulge us two young dumb fucks by regaling us with many, many wresting stories. God, they were good times!!

Just to clarify, not … Kid Dy-no-mite

Although, these were Good Times too!!
