The Chinese version with the crackling skin!! This is my newest and latest obsession of something I’d like to do for a family dinner. I was thinking of it prior to Thanksgiving, and I guess that holiday inspired me once again in considering it for a family event/dinner. I’ve even already stopped at a few highly regarded Chinese restaurants known for fabulous whole roasted pig. For a complete meal (the whole pig, plus a few sides), I’m looking at around $250-$300. Which is fine, it’s not too much … what is too much is the quantity of food. Even buying a suckling pig, instead of the bigger one, is enough to feed 20 people … maybe more. And my family, and my gatherings aren’t close to that number of people. Recently, we lost one member also … so sad, she was much too young to leave us. Uh, no … she didn’t die, lol. It wasn’t ‘girl don’t go away mad … girl just go away’ either … she’s just gone, let’s leave it at that. Granted, I could buy the amount needed to feed the lot, but the whole pig presentation is what makes it so fucking incredible!! Hey, and like the lady at the restaurant said, “you can wrap up left-overs for the guests to take home”. We’ll see … one day, one fucking day!!

This one is cut, sliced ready to be servered and eaten, yet appearing intact. The restaurants offer this option, and this would be the way I’d go. But, they add a charge for this … pigs, lol!!
