Doukhobors and cucumbers that is … remember every garden in the neighbourhood growing these like it was nobody’s business, and remember my mom making cucumber sandwiches too … certainly not my cup of tea now, but back then when I was young, LOVED them!! Ah … I miss ’em both!! π

Half our backyard was garden. There was always a plate of cucumbers at lunchtime in the summer liberally salted (dad knew no moderation, lol). And jars of pickles being canned. Don’t remember cucumber sandwiches(though i like them) BUT cucumber salad was a staple … lol. I still luv ’em in my green salad, or on a sub, just part of who i am i guess… just no salt, sorry dad, lol.
