seventeen thousand˚four hundred

Don’t know why I took these, but I did. Don’t know if I even want to say much … I will say that I saw this great barebones brick warehouse environment location, so I figured why not … and then an Annie Leibovitz wannabe had all these crazy fucking ideas, and still I figured why not. They’re kinda grainy and blurred being cell phone shots … undoubtedly for the better, lol!! Maybe I’ll go back with my DSLR … and generous amounts of baby oil wearing next to nothing … oh, and with a few props too, lol!?!? Yeah right … as if?? Not a motherfucking chance!!

my kale tale

Fortinos flyer had such great prices on so many different items that I made the effort to go and take advantage of the savings. On sale was a variety of greens … they had red and green swiss chard, dandelion, collard greens, kohlrabi, and kale bunches for $1.29 each … take your pick!! Hovering over the choices, and never having tried any of them, I was gonna go with the red chard. Then I spied a shopper making her choice, so I struck up a conversation … I’m good at doing that, bugging people, lol. She mentioned that she’s a home chef and is very keen on the kale, spouting off its qualities, its health benefits (I later googled and checked … boy was she ever right) … I could see the similarities to rapini which I told her I loved!! She says it’s close, but less bitter, and doesn’t wilt down as much when cooked … she was bang on with that too. I was telling her my techniques, not liking that blanching crap she was trying to sell me. Right away her eyes lit up, and she realized my method was much better, and much faster … I was going on and on … she interrupts with, “are you Italian?” … I get that a lot … Jewish too, lol!! It was great sharing food ideas and learning. Lookout rapini … I may have a new girlfriend and her name is kale!!
