This is one fucking great company!! Manufacturers of the best headphones in the world!! This is the letter I wrote a few years back explaining my situation:
I wisely cropped my personal information, wouldn’t want any-of-yous beating a path to my door, lol. Oh, and I did remember her name, still do … Kim (just was uncertain, wasn’t 100% sure at the time of writing, so thought I’d err on the side of caution). I told her my headphones looked like a lawnmower ran over them … more than once, lol!! And admittedly that most of the damage was caused by me trying to fix them, lol. They were chewed up so badly that if Grado didn’t offer to help me, I’d have had no choice but to buy a new pair. I still can’t believe they repaired them for me, AND at a nominal fee, AND that John Grado the owner of the company went to the Post Office personally and mailed the repaired headphones back to me. Which brings me to today … I called wanting to inquire about upgrading to the new SR 325is model (still priced same as the SR 325i) at $295, and hopefully circumventing paying taxes and duties … PLUS obtaining $100 credit!! Christ, I would have been all over that like white on rice!! To put it into perspective, here in Canada they sell for $400+tax=$452) … and with the Canadian Dollar trading at $1.02 for the American Greenback, thought it was an ideal time. Sadly all good things must come to an end … they eliminated the upgrade program, too many hassles I was told. I understood completely. Frankly, I couldn’t believe they ever offered it in the first place. Honestly, mine are now in perfect working condition having been restored to their former glory (almost) … oh and my SR 125’s have the superior ear-cup, no longer available on today’s model, having been substituted with cheaper materials … a cost cutting measure permitting Grado to keep any price hike in check, so all is not lost. Will patiently bide my time!!
