Knew it was gonna be a rough run. Distance wasn’t an option. Really, only wanted to duplicate my previous one. I did. Travelled 2.35K in 10 minutes, plenty far, plenty fast for now. And again, jogging back was pleasant, very relaxed. Caught up to a couple of runners nearing home. Am I the only one still sporting summer gear?
Protein smoothie. Shower. Pop a pill. Appt. w/ Dr. Harry. Wish me luck y’all!
Boy, so much is happening, trying many different things, so much I wanna say about it all, but I know my laziness won’t allow that, lol! First thing I will say is that when I woke-up, I had a lightbulb moment … since we went out and bought protein powder (more Tiff’s thing at the time than mine), and listening to her educate me on protein … decided I was gonna have a protein smoothie/shake BEFORE my run … prior to that, I woke up had a glass of water, a cup of joe and was out the door, on my way (I know, how fucking retarded, eh, lol?), and it musta worked, came home 8K later in a record 39 minutes … 39:00 EXACTLY … so I was happy about that, but not only that, spent lots of time learning more about protein powders (so much out there folks, it’ll make your head spin), and quickly joined the mindset of those who eschew powders (with ingredients you can’t pronounce), and instead prefer raw hemp seeds as an alternative … I LOVE that thought, all natural (organic too), and ONLY one ingredient, AND I know my Vitamix will pulverize the shit outta it when making smoothies – so excited for tomorrow’s run, lol … AND, Tiff on her Harley-health-kick, had me buy edamame (dry roasted, for snacks) as well … like I said, trying new shit … lol, had to laugh as I was putting it into my basket, no fucking way she’s wasabi-ing it … them’s for me, LOL!!
… y’all!! All from Costco. Picked up frozen mangoes, AND pineapple chunks (said, she read about them on my friend’s blog – thanks for the tip), AND she was lucky to get some more Chia (she sprinkles that shit on EVERYTHING, lol) … stuff is pricey too, bag cost almost $18, ain’t even organic like what we have on hand, AND the golden organic flaxseed I bought which is organic was only $2.99/lb … add this to our frozen bananas and strawberries, as well as apples (we ALWAYS have apples in the house) and dates, PLUS whatever else we buy during the week, I’d say we’re all set … it’s all smoothie sailing from here …
… and I know what I said, ’bout not clogging the blog, but I couldn’t help myself. I can’t believe how unbelievably simple everything is, even the clean-up … especially the clean-up. And that’s VERY important, nobody would use it if it were a pain in the ass. I read the usage instructions, and used what I had handy in the house. A handful of red grapes, one apple quartered (core & stem, the whole apple), half a frozen banana, and a handful of Europe’s Best4-Field Berry Mix (blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) frozen fruit … oh, and just a bit of milk, maybe 2 oz at most … there you have it (there I had it, lol), my first Vitamix smoothie!!
