the ‘hood goodness never ends!!
… tiff, yer gonna shit!!
… my le creuset says so! my oh-so-byoot-ah-ful-ova-flowin le creuset, says so! one of my fave meals ever, so versatile! today am KISS, and goin’ classic.. goin’ old school basic!
pics don’t even begin to do it justice! flew solo today too… tiff missed the chili boat! she was busy serving/eating baba ganoush eggs benny bunny… baby!
… can you spell/smell leftovers, y’all?
… she blurted it out – interrupting our business discussions… I love that shit, lol!! I stopped her at that moment… to grab a pen and write it down verbatim in case I forgot! Angela, you were such a lovely person/shining star when we first spoke over a week ago, I was thrilled when you answered the phone tonight! I recognized your name/voice immediately, and was happy you remembered me as well.
Weighed my financial options, I cut the cord… been w/you since ’92 too! But, these dealings of late, was the final straw! Even gave y’all a tongue lashing a few days back, warning I’d be bailing… and, now… I did! Told ya so mofos!! Bottom line, my wallet is $389 fatter for my diligence & persistence!
F U Johnny… looks like cocksuckers are all yours now Tiff… good luck!!
… I know I was posting last year some ‘o this good stuff … healthier foods/drinks etc., that w/ my running became an integral part of whom I am in the here and now … my, in the grand scheme of things effort becoming a healthier (better too) human if you will! Tiff found the recipe on one of her many foodie sites; is the second time I’ve made it this week. I love salads, especially tasty-good-for-you-salads … chick peas, lentils, radishes … drizzled & tossed w/ a lemon, dill, dijon, garlic, vinaigrette … so mothereffing awesome!!
… a coupla pics, y’all!!
… Rob Ford luvin’ motherfucker!! But she just smartly sits there … quietly, nodding listening to yer retardedness … uh hmm, uh hmm – ing away while ya happily-slappily suck his cock. No sense potentially sacrificing gorgeous locks, with disagreeing! Hey, Tiff def ain’t no coiffedummy, lol!!
Doing my part, trying to make less of an environmental impact! That’s ALL my garbage!! That small, tiny, lonely bag. That’s it!! One week’s worth for the family … ok, it’s just the two of us (♫ ♬ we can make it if we try ♫ ♬), but very impressive nonetheless! On a related note (kinda?), I cancelled my landline, and while it impacts me more than the environment, it’s still another step forward. Must say, it’s the smartest move ever – woulda done it sooner, Tiff was the holdout, lol!
How many of you really understand life’s meaning and experiences? I swear not too many! I see things occur, that to me are mind-blowingly motherfucking awesome, and others don’t see a fucking thing? And when, I try explaining to them what just miraculously happened (sorry, Tiff & S for the singling out; but you guys just stood there jaws dropped clueless), they STILL don’t get/see it – a double whammy missed life-learning opportunity, lol! I think most people are oblivious because the special people giving/sending us messages/helping us to understand, aren’t the people others usually give a second thought/glance to. Tip to y’all; quit ogling good-looking, well to do people, eagerly listening to all the bull-crap coming from their beautiful clothes wearing mouths! They don’t have any answers, look elsewhere, is all I’m saying. I do!
This snowball started rolling with my enrolling in a Community College (I graduated head of the class btw; prof told me so) course last summer. Even that, the way I found it online, its immediacy, the fact it wasn’t filled … the way it all fell into perfect place – all these things had special meaning, and I certainly wasn’t lost on it then, nor am I now! Fast forward half a year to last week, and my sit down chit-chat with my girl Jennie, offering her insightful wisdom, and in a matter of a few days, I’m able to accomplish what I wanted to, but hadn’t in all those previous months since I graduated (I did say, numero uno, eh, lol?)!! Stop reading and think about that for a minute! That’s some fucked-up powerful life shit going on … and I SEE it. I SAW it all unfolding in front of my very eyes! And while, I know this is only a baby step in the baby grand scheme of things, to me it’s a fresh start, a new beginning … Rome wasn’t built in a day bitches … And if ya’ll can’t see that, and its significance, then you don’t get what I’m talkin’ ’bout Willis!! TAGDNTOAG!!
What if I say I will never surrender?
Pan-Roasted Chicken with Harissa Chickpeas – Bon Appétit.
Tiff found this in her Bon Appétit magazine … perfect for a wintry, cold Canadian day. And, I did my shopping yesterday ahead of the storm!
… and my kick-ass version
Day started early, driving in snowy-shit conditions to Yorkdale wanting to beat the mad rush – and I did, was in and out, with deals snagged. At home later, Tiff remarked how she was somewhat disappointed that we didn’t score a Dyson DC29 that Target and Future Shop had on sale for HUGE savings. The former was available in store, limited quantities, no rain cheques, essentially a Boxing Day door crasher for $298.99, the latter a one day online offer of $298.98. As I said, the savings were incredible … $200 off. But, now it was hours since stores opened their doors, and she was sure that they were sold out … but wait, she took to her boards, her shopping deal sites, and someone posted about getting an even better deal because of a price match from Canadian Tire. Sorry, I’m gonna jump ahead here in my story … others later commented that he shouldn’t have posted – stating it’s up to the discretion of individual Canadian Tire stores regarding price matching … and perhaps he should have done the same (used discretion), since it wasn’t a guaranteed deal. Apparently some won’t do it if it’s a door crasher, they may even call the store to see if they have any in stock, and if they don’t, then they won’t price match. But when I left, I didn’t know this, I just flew out the door with my Target flyer in hand, and all the extras Tiff told me this other dude got on his deal, expecting to get the same. Oh, another thing, Canadian Tire is great for up to the minute inventory, we realized that it takes only five minutes to update its current inventory, and my store had eleven in stock, other nearby (read: far, but close, lol) stores were showing one or two, not one was showing double-digits … other than mine. Plus, my store is only two minutes away. And when in, I beelined it to the vacuum cleaners. None on the shelf, no problem – store-dude gladly phones my request to the stock-room dude, quickly running outta sight, retrieving my Dyson moments later. Sweet! I went to pay, but was referred to customer service because of the price match (which I figured was going to happen), then elderly, gruff worker lady kept barking “NO RETURNS TODAY”… I told her, “hey, I’m trying to buy the fecking thing”, lol (Tiff joked, “you shoulda said ok and left the store”, LOL)! Oh, and ANOTHER thing … the store’s return/customer service dept. is set up to be easily discernible with chrome bars, a walkway leading you in and around, indicating ‘this is where the line forms’ and where you stand awaiting your turn, till someone says, “NEXT”, or signals you … and you’d think that would suffice/eliminate any confusion and solve the problem. Nope! It’s amazing how people come from all angles, ignoring said chrome-bar-laneway and rudely encroaching on your space seeking immediate attention, as you’re trying to complete your transaction! After, she (wonderful cashier/service chickie – sorry, didn’t catch your name) disposed of a few of these interrupting ignoramuses, I mentioned to her how rude it was that people would do that. She said, you wouldn’t believe it, it’s non-stop all day. Ok, back to my Dyson deal … Canadian Tire did price match, and I guess because of a price match they give you an additional 10% in Canadian Tire money equivalent to the price of the item … which, in this case was $30 … sweet, again!! And the beauty of their money, is that it’s like money, it never expires. I also received a $15 Promo Card because I spent over $75 (valid from Jan 10 to Jan 25), so I’ll def have to keep my eye on it making sure it doesn’t expire before being used. It was a great deal for $300 … I got mine for the same price, minus $30, minus $15 = $255!! Big shout-out to guy who posted the deal in the first place … you’re my Boxing Day hero! Oh, and here’s kicker; everything – the whole thing took me under 20 minutes from when I left my house, to when I got back home … I didn’t even have to kill myself doing it either, lol!! I did say SWEET, eh, lol!!
$30 … lookie my money, lol …
and my Promo Card …
the receipt …
… and my new Dyson …
Pics taken outside my house. We could see trees plummeting thunderously crashing to the ground and we stood surveying the damage. Tiff even pulled out her Yaktrax … complete with pjs, quite the ensemble, lol!
strewn branches.
Tiff’s WinterTrax.
walkway leading to my house.
ice is an inch thick, and counting.
at my driveway. creaking, a matter of time. will be blocked in, prisoners.
to the rescue, lol.
Lost favourite winter sweater I’m sporting too … TIFFFFFFF!!!
Over a 1000 pics went missing synching my 4 to 5s. A couple oldies but goodies that didn’t.
… and, I ain’t kidding ’bout the sweater, can’t find it?!
Crazy coiffe, lol … crazy guy too!
Still a keeper, always will be. Pic means a lot to me! And sorry … no side-by-side comparison w/ my poor old 4 screensaver, showing y’all how much better it is. Lemme just say this; IT F’N KILLS … I love it!!
… hey, check it out … a Friday the 13th 4:20, LOL!!
… FINALLY!! Paint painted, powder room pedestal sink sunk (try saying that fast five times peter piper, lol) – Tiff K’s gorgeous choice … girl’s got a beauty-colour eye! Hey, in my defense, woulda been done way sooner had I not devoted myself to a more important, time-consuming reno job I was helping out with. Sacrifice is important – don’t forget it … and ya can even quote me, lol!
… what? another 4:20 post? I swear, it’s not on purpose y’all, lol!
… FINALLY!! It’s been a long haul getting here, but today I can optimistically say I’m getting better! Everything went well, and this time I capitulated and snagged a painkiller prescription before I left. But, not before Dr. Harry asked for my driver’s license. Huh? Apparently a new (new to me at least, lol) government policy. Same thing happened at the pharmacy … but, at least this time when she began her explanation, I stopped her telling none was necessary.
A couple of quickies:
Was just getting into it w/ the assistant, telling her my running stories/accomplishments before the good doc came in, ready to go to work, abruptly ending my few moments of glory. She was all interested, and impressed, asking lots of questions. Was a great, relaxing/calming way to begin the procedure. It made me happy talking about it. Other than my blog, really don’t get an opportunity to say much about it with anyone. Oh sure, Tiff gets an earful, but it’s exiting the other one just as quickly, LOL!
Dr. Harry said something to me, something about me … and, I was only thinking about it a day or two before, something I’m only realizing in my fifty plus years. I want to say, it’s something I hope to change, but, I don’t think that’s possible, so, I’ll say … it’s something I hope to lessen … “you’re too hard on yourself” – Dr. Harry.
my meds (+ 1 on hold at the pharmacy)
gave me the gov’t literature too, lol
quickie recap:
here’s my record run – ALMOST cracked the 17 minute barrier. honestly, don’t think i’m capable of giving more than i did today.
saturday:
we decided to paint. paint the garage door. i hate painting. but, the day was PERFECT … sunny, breezy, about 18°. plus, that shit was like clam chowder, like tapioca pudding … so i don’t really consider it painting, more like globbing on thick shit, lol. and OMFG, Tiff picked out the most gorgeous colour (Behr’s antique white 1823u from Home Depot), semi-gloss … the premium plus w/ primer. we def have the best looking garage door in the neighbourhood.
sunday:
picked up the italians from the airport. drove them home, had the best time listening to their experiences/vacation stories. late evening, went out for dinner, and ’cause of boy wonder’s clout, the bill for the WHOLE dinner came to a whopping $7 + tax … I was charged for only ONE beer, lol!! suffice it to say, we left a huge-ass tip. it’s either the cheapest dinner we ever had, or the most expensive beer of all time, lol. was a great day, a great week-end.
tuesday:
tomorrow – stay tuned. big birthday bash!
From 1992. Tiff just dug these up, didn’t even know I had them, they existed. Were never used, and like new as you can see. Great condition, eh? Sure brings back memories. Witnessed Infamy and Sky Classic in the horseflesh. Sky Classic was one of my favourite horses of all time. I know I still have Racing Forms from back then … ain’t never parting with them. As a side note: today’s the Woodbine Mile – Wise Dan is the heavy favourite. Dan is wise too! 😉
Lookie what arrived via Canada Post yesterday. Tiff’s gorgeous riding boots! Her beautiful Isaac Mizrahi boots! Too bad they’re the wrong colour, wrong size! It’s laughable the continual fuck-ups this particular online retailer commits. Tiff woulda happily lived with the colour mizhap … despite the fact that she purposely ordered early, ensuring that she’d get her fave grey before selling out. But she def can’t live happily with those monstrous size 9s. Nor can I! Rest assured y’all, will be calling complaining pronto after posting. I won’t be missing this bus … REUBENNNN!!
