Tiffany K’s TopBox

Must admit, really don’t fully understand it … and if this was her blog maybe she’d explain better, but it ain’t. And I do know she’s signed up for others – beauty boxes … Luxe Box, Loose Button … come to think of it, something tells me those two are actually one in the same?! The fuck do I know, lol? Anyways, I do remember reading in my TO Star that TopBox was the most desirable of this dollingoutsamplesbeautyboxbunch … AND, that there was a waiting list to sign-up. As luck would have it, my credit card membership permitted me front of the line privileges and Tiff scored huge … not your regular TopBox either, this one came with twice the goodies offered regular subscribers. Can’t remember all that’s supposed to be inside, do like the packaging … a couple of pics y’all …

Sohail!! Thanks Motherfucker … Again!!

Blogged ’bout ya and yer friendship before. Yep, you bet … bloggin’ again … good friends are hard to come by. Half a world away, travelling with your family, attending a wedding, visiting family and friends … AND yet you still find time to call (as promised btw), just too bad it wasn’t the following day … you woulda called me a year away as well … “hello 2012, it’s 2013 calling”, lol!! AND on top of that (if that wasn’t enough, and believe me, it was … MORE than enough) you come back home to Canada with a beautiful present for yours truly, a well thought-out gift … BIG BIG thanks to your lovely wife Farah for picking it out, choosing the colour … I fucking LOVE IT!! And Sohail, please don’t hesitate taking me up on my offer personally thanking her as I suggested (I’d post her pic showing appreciation …only have vids though, lol). Down boy, lol. influenza vaccinated

… finally. And btw, that’s the flu shot to y’all belonging to the Simpleton family. My doc was always booked, repeated calls seeking slipping in ‘ncase of cancelled appointments proved fruitless. Had no choice but to go to my local Rexall and let the pharmacist needle me. That’s right, in Ontario select pharmacies are now allowed to give flu shots … no appointment, any day … all the time. Simply walk in, hand over your Health Card, fill out the taking one minute of your time yes/no questionnaire and you’re good to go … oh and to non-Canadian readers of my blog … it’s FREE … the hardest part (most upsetting part I should say) was removing my sweater providing an easy upper arm target … meanwhile messing my coiffe … 😮

what a difference a day makes

… and a couple years!! Back then I’d stack myself up against any other snow shoveler … wished it was Olympic event I was that good … very quick and efficient, working at a brisk walking pace, even running at times. Was a time I’d gladly go out 3 times a day during winter storms keeping our driveway cleared, AND do the neighbour’s as well when they were away to boot. Now, hope I never see the stuff, lol. Guessing we got a good 10 cm … was heavy and dense which didn’t help … all I know is my lungs are burning and I’m winded. In my best Danny Glover/Roger Murtaugh Lethal Weapon impersonation … I’m too old for this shit!!

S T R E T C H I N G

I am the KING … love eating on the cheap, waste not want not … I’ll drag out a meal for a week, no joke. Started this party with meatballs (BEST batch btw – sorry, no pics) and my home made marinara. Three days in, digging through my creative cupboards (metaphorically & literally) I found these … Magyar noodles doing their best drywall plug imitation, and half a bag of Gomiti. Well, you know the drill … sea salt al dente, then added to ma ma meatballs … NOW I have more food than when I started, lol. Served with frozen garlic toast found in the freezer *score*, and freshly grated Grana Padano from my fridge. Note: must snap pics sans grated cheese – can’t see the forest for the trees. 💡

on an avocado roll

my latest helping-my-sorry-old-ass-body kick that I’m on. loaded with lots of the good stuff. a quickie google search, and you’ll know what I’m talkin’ ’bout Willis!! today I made sammies on Italian rolls; leftover chicken, red onions, hothouse tomatoes, havarti … and my new superfood friend, the avocado. reheated rice and potatoes (more leftovers – waste not want not) served on the side and bob’s yerfuckin uncle. a coupla pics y’all. :mrgreen:

oven roasted turkey panini

… a quickie post, a few pics y’all. Thinly sliced oven roasted turkey, havarti, Boston lettuce, hothouse tomatoes, low-fat mayo and my favourite Yukon Gold potato bread. Used my Mario Batali grill pan, and made a quickie cambozola dressing for the sweet potato fries – oh, and that’s Maldon sea salt flakes too. Enjoy!!

Ophthalmologist’s orders, lol … meant as a celebration of sorts; I was normal on 2 field tests – means no glaucoma … good enough reason as any to lift a pint. And when he said this to me and laughed (and I as well) … immediately made me think of what I said – something ALMOST identical two days before … great minds I guess!! 😯
